Connectivity Point completed the structured cabling for this national wireless carrier’s flagship call center in Charleston, S.C. The state-of-the-art customer care facility, the largest in the country for this carrier, will accommodate 1,200 employees when fully staffed. The 170,000-square-foot building was formerly a K-Mart and is a good example of adapting a facility for a new purpose. A large central data room is connected by fiber optic cabling to six telecom rooms.
From the TR’s work station cabling is installed under the raised floor to approximately 35 furniture “pods” each with approximately 40 work stations. Wireless access points throughout the facility provide wireless network connectivity, while a cellular repeater system provides wireless cellular connectivity. Amenities include a fitness center, grilling area, and game room. Network cabling was also installed to support the audio-visual systems which are impressive. Dual-displays at virtually every work station and ceiling mounted displays throughout the call center area create a dynamic work environment. Congratulations to everyone involved in this showcase project, especially our customer who has used Connectivity Point on projects throughout the U.S.
