Paychex selected Connectivity Point Design and Installation (CPDI) as their partner on the relocation of their Regional Office in Hartford, CT.
This relocation consisted of the cabling to 193 office outlet locations, 214 cubicle outlet locations and 64 floor box outlet locations, all with dual Category 5e cables for voice and data. The backbone cabling consisted of a 200 pair Category 3 riser cable for analog lines and devices and 24 Category 6 cables for T1 extensions.
CPDI was also responsible for the IDF build out to include the installation of 12 racks, vertical cable managers, ladder tray, rack shelving units, power distribution units and patch cords all to Paychex provided specifications and standards.
CPDI’s locally hired technicians adhered to Paychex’s strict standards for installation, labeling and documentation. This ensured that the installation would be consistent with other Paychex sites and would allow corporate IT staff to efficiently maintain the facility going forward.
CPDI project managers provided Paychex with weekly status updates and progress pictures during the 3-month project, which enabled Paychex to confirm that goals and milestone deadlines were being met without requiring them to travel to the site for confirmation.
CPDI also performed additional duties to assist Paychex including the temporary staging of cabling to workstations at the existing location to allow Paychex to move furniture from the existing location to the new location while keeping the workforce operational at the existing site. This involved identifying and labeling phones, PCs and other hardware, re-routing the existing cabling out of the furniture and over to temporary stations, testing all cabling, connecting all devices and confirming network availability.
CPDI was also involved in the removal of all (abandoned) cabling at the existing location to allow Paychex to meet lease and local city code requirements.
