Poland Spring yesterday opened its third bottling plant in Maine, a new $60 million facility in Kingfield. Connectivity Point Design and Installation installed the structured cabling to support both the office and bottling operations.

The plant is producing approximately 18,000 cases of water daily, but starting next month, employees will work around the clock seven days a week boosting production to 50,000 cases, according to the Sun Journal in Lewiston. The water is piped from springs about four and a half miles away.

The LEED-certified facility currently employees about 40 people, but that is expected to increase to 50 full-time positions with part-time help added during the summer. Poland Spring, a subsidiary of Nestles Water North America Inc., employs about 800 people in Maine.
