This large corporate customer needed an upgrade. What better time to perform this but during a site renovation and reconfiguration. They had been operating with outdated equipment, which was causing some frustration and inefficiency, and it was time to do something about it. The corporate AV team engaged The Connectivity Group in a design/build capacity to revamp all the AV systems within the office.
Like most large offices, there were a variety of needs. Large training rooms requiring large displays & audio enhancement; large meeting rooms needing video conferencing capabilities; a customer service center that required a means to share call statistics; smaller huddle spaces where ease-of-use was the priority; and a number of unique spaces such as a multi-use Café, and a fitness center. TCG worked hand in hand with the AV Team and proposed a variety of scenarios and worked with the customer to refine a solution that met their objectives in the most cost effective manner.
Notable aspects of the project included Cisco Telepresence Kits used for video conferencing with added enhancement ranging from wireless presentation using a Barco Clickshare, Dual Cameras with enhanced audio. In non-V/C rooms and Huddle spaces, these were kept simple for user interaction with auto-input switching and auto-on/off of the displays and cable-cubbies for connecting cables. Room schedulers for all spaces enable employees to schedule rooms via Outlook or on an ad-hoc basis. An AV over IP video distribution system was installed to support 21 displays disbursed between the Customer Care Center, Fitness Room, Café, and strategic locations throughout the facility for corporate communications.
End users have been delighted with the results. Not only does the new equipment enable them to better utilize the benefits these systems provide, but also the aesthetic enhancements that the AV systems brought to the entire office have brightened the space and created a more contemporary feel.
